Recurring Events

One Stop Wednesday is our weekday gathering. Beginning at 5:30 with Children’s Choir Rehearsal, we have a full evening of music rehearsals, youth programming, special events and a community dinner. In addition, on select Wednesdays we gather even earlier to make meals for The Night Ministry. Here’s the typical schedule:

  • 4:30 – Night Ministry Meal Preparation *
  • 5:35 – Children’s Choir Rehearsal
  • 6:15 – One Stop Wednesday Dinner
  • 7:00 – Chancel Choir Rehearsal, youth and/or confirmation class, other special events as noted
  • 7:45 – Handbell Choir Rehearsal
  • 8:00(ish) – Celebration Band Rehearsal

* Night Ministry meets on the third Wednesday of every even-numbered month

During Lent and Advent, we add a vespers service at 7:00 and adjust our schedules accordingly.

Annual Events

Special Events are more than just fun. They help us connect as community and grow our relationships with one another and the neighborhood in which we live.  Below are just a few of the special events that we hold throughout the year

Rally Day Ribfest kicks off our program year every September.  We start with a combined worship service (typically at 10:00 a.m.) and follow with a fun block party that includes service projects, games for the kids including the ever-popular dunk buckets, and our annual Ribfest Competition and Potluck.

Christmas is a busy time at LMC filled with joy and fun for all.

  • Our children and families enjoy our St. Nicholas Breakfast where we gather for a family activity or craft, a tasty breakfast, and a visit from St. Nicholas himself.
  • Cocoa and Carols is an annual concert put on by the Chamber Singers of Lincoln Park High School in our Sanctuary and is a festive and beautiful way to kick-off the holiday season for all ages.
  • Neighborhood caroling is a tradition here at LMC as many of our adult members gather in the evening to bring the sounds of the season to our neighborhood.

Chili Cook-Off is an annual event benefitting the various causes supported by our Women’s Ministries group. LMC members compete to see who is the chili champ as judged by the congregation. This evening event also features musical entertainment.  It’s fun for the whole family.
